192 plants in the ground today at our SDSU Ext. trial site in Hot Springs.
This season, we are evaluating two crops: celosia (Celosia argentea) and strawflower (Xerochrysum bracteatum) across two transplanting dates.
Throughout the season, we will be collecting data on harvest timing, stem length, harvest duration, bloom quality, and overall marketability. The goal is to identify production practices and crop selections that can support the success of South Dakota’s commercial cut flower industry.
